• Opening a window that provides a clear view of the different ways of life and recognizing the social structures described by artists on both sides of the Mediterranean.

  • Maintaining creative objectivity for writers and their freedom of expression.

  • Helping those writers overcome censorship and official obstacles and complications, disregarding any religious and/or racist measures in their creations which could limit their creativity (i.e. relationships among sexes).

  • Helping young filmmakers free themselves from the types of screenplays enforced by those who dominate the market.

  • To offer young Arab and Mediterranean filmmakers the theoretical and technological knowledge through exposing them to new techniques in the cinematic, audiovisual and multimedia fields in order to help them to eventually establish a complete and global cinematic society.

  • Encouraging dialogue and exchange of ideas concerning all cinematic fields.

  • The project works towards a better and mutual understanding through regular and seasonal transmission of cinematic & audiovisual productions either in the north or south of the Mediterranean, it also allows creating new audiences for Euro- Mediterranean productions.

  • Different thematic programs will be organized through which remarkable works in the history of cinema will be introduced in the form of classic features or documentaries, a certain artist, country or subject. In general there will be space provided for introducing European and Arab video creations. Emphasis will be placed on modern Digital technology currently used by a large number of young filmmakers.

  • An important achievement will be attracting a number of TV and/or satellite channels in the different countries participating, and encouraging them to transmit Euro-Arab films and selected audiovisual programs introduced and screened in the festival

  • The strategy set for the festival is to be covered over a period of 3 years, but the effect of this project is expected to last much longer, and it's worth mentioning that the support offered by "Euromed Audiovisual II" program has permitted the launch of the project which contributes greatly to attracting new audiences to view the cinematic & audiovisual productions from the north and south of the Mediterranean. Therefore the project's life time (3 years) ending, will actually resemble a great start for a new era with a new kind of audiences who will have definitely benefited from this cultural versatility. The project will also encourage commercial movie theatres to provide space for European and Arab productions.

  • The dynamics generated from the activities will have positive effects on national cinema & audiovisual productions in the participating countries, and will lead to enhancing the exchange and cooperation among artists and innovators of the countries North & South of the Mediterranean, as well as the exchange among the MEDA countries.
