Euromed Audiovisual II
A programme supported by the European Union to enhance the cultural and audiovisual cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean
The Euromed Audiovisual II Programme, launched in 2006 by the European Commission, contributes to mutual understanding between the peoples of the European Union and the South of the Mediterranean by underlining their common values and the cultural diversity of the Mediterranean region.
With a budget of 15 million euro over three years, the programme supports 12 selected projects covering a range of initiatives targeting various industry professionals, institutions and organizations in the MEDA region and the EU and spanning the entire film development, distribution, promotion and exhibition process.
Through its numerous programmes and partners in Europe as well as in the South Mediterranean, the "Caravan of the Euro-Arab Cinema" is an integral part of the Euromed Audiovisual II Programme.
The Caravan is now launching its second year of activity, after a succeful 2006 where it reached an audience of almost 60000, offering them a wide range of films from Europe and the Mediterranean, short and feauture films, fiction and documentaries, enabling thus to great discoveries and cross-cultural experiences.
Building on a rich experience, we wish its organisers the greatest success and its audiences the greatest pleasure watching films from both shores of the Mediterranean.

Mr. Bruno Dethomas
Head of the European Commission Delegation

The workshop was also meant to help young talents to explore, through their films, themselves and the new place (the City), as well as to communicate with European experts. The time of the Workshop was a challenge for the participants who have to give simple and alternative solutions
